Moon Tree Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Jun 11

Free

As part of a national initiative to promote STEM education and environmental stewardship, NASA’s Office of STEM Engagement, in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, launched seeds from five tree species aboard the Artemis I mission. These “Moon Trees” grown from seeds that traveled nearly 270,000 miles to the Moon and back are now being distributed to select institutions across the country.
ExplorationWorks is honored to have been chosen to receive one of these historic trees a Douglas Fir which is the only Artemis Moon Tree in the state of Montana.
“We’re absolutely thrilled that ExplorationWorks was selected to receive a Moon Tree,” says Sara Feilzer, Program Director at ExplorationWorks. “This tree represents a unique collaboration between science, space exploration, and environmental education and we’re honored to share its story with our community.”
The ceremony will celebrate this rare blend of space science, conservation, and community collaboration.
