October Guest Artist: Sarah Wharton Riggle

Oct 7 - Oct 29

LT Pick Free

The exhibit will feature Sarah Wharton Riggle's nature-inspired watercolors, pastel paintings, and her newest endeavor, mosaics, which incorporate repurposed pottery and stained glass. Riggle and her husband returned to Montana in 2019, after living in Hawaii for nearly 10 years, and 7 years in Nevada. She feels her time away from Montana enriched her artistic experience in many ways. The change of scenery from the tropics of Hawaii to the high desert of Nevada provided both teaching and learning opportunities.
Riggle taught watercolor painting for many years in Hawaii, and while living in Nevada, began studying with nationally known mosaic artists.
Her biggest influence and love throughout her life has been nature. She couldn’t wait to come back to Montana forever home where her children spent much of their lives, and where the mountains, changing seasons, and the variety of plants, animals and birds provide endless inspiration for her artworks.
