Opening Reception: Exhibition: The Needle and the Loom: A Collaborative Show by Bonnie Tarses and Heidi Zielinski

Bonnie's most recent work takes her botanical weaving to the next level.  Eight strands of custom dyed fine silk, which Bonnie has lovingly collected over the past 40 years, are twisted together to create an ever-evolving complex regal yarn. Dried wheat, lavender and willow are strategically interspersed with surprising results.
Heidi’s work is a combination of collaborative pieces using Bonnie Tarses’ weavings which are incorporated into her art quilts, and her own work using an abstract collage style with machine and hand stitching and embellishment. Her stitched wall quilts are detailed, intimate and reflective of her fondness for color, cloth, nature and life in Western Montana.
