Interpreted by kindergarten through eighth grade students in the Flathead Valley, the theme is Art in 3 Dimensions as a sculptural form or implied forms on a 2 Dimensional artwork.
Form in art refers to objects which have length, width, and height. It exists in both real and implied manners. Examples of real forms include sculpture, relief carving, pop outs on a picture, origami, ceramics, and mobiles. Implied forms can be found in drawings and paintings where the illusion of three dimensions is created with the use of light showing contrast of highlights and shadow areas or by using lines that show length, width, and height.
