PIHRA All Nations Indian Relay Championships

Sep 17 - Sep 20

Indian relay is known as America’’s oldest competition, dating back more than 400 years to the Indian nations of the Northern Plains. The Professional Indian Horse Racing Association’s championships are the culmination of 16 grueling competitions held June to September in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, South Dakota and Minnesota. During these races, PIHRA member teams compete to earn points toward the coveted invitation to the championships. The 30 teams compete daily; events also include the Ladies’ Warrior Race, Kids’’ Relay Race and the ever-popular Men’’s Ultimate Warrior Race, which features a hundred-yard dash, flying-leap horse mount and gallop to the finish line.
