Biographer and historian John Taliaferro reads from and discusses his biography of a conservation legend in Grinnell: America's Environmental Pioneer and His Restless Drive to Save the West. His latest book digs into the life and times of George Bird Grinnell, one of the most important originators of the American conservation movement, from the founding of the first Audubon Society and, with Theodore Roosevelt, the Boone and Crockett Club (which promoted the concept of “fair chase”) to helping to create Glacier National Park (where a glacier now bears his name) and working to install legal protections for migratory birds.
