From the Anagama features work from student & community member participants in Anagama firings led by wood fire resident, Kayla Noble from 2023-2025. The Anagama kiln, developed in Japan centuries ago, is a single-chamber kiln built in a sloping tunnel shape. Fueled exclusively with wood, the kiln requires continuous stoking until it reaches and maintains temperatures around 2400°F. In addition to applied glazes, ash from the burning wood naturally settles and melts onto the ceramic surfaces, creating unique textures and finishes.
Participating artists include Nikki Asay, Andy Bugos, Kaley Cross, Owen Gauthier, Callie Hunt, Ryan Jette, Amanda Krolczyk, Greg Morris, Megan Parker, Ici Schemm, Kelly Schirmann, Rebecca Smith, Emily Ward, Kaitlynn Webster.
