The Clay Studio’s July exhibition features the work of current resident artist Sara Catapano, whose bio-morphic ceramic sculpture combines aspects of flora and fauna to create bizarre forms that seem both familiar and alien. She is attracted to dichotomies when designing her pieces, “juxtaposing fleshy plump, rippled skin against skeletal tendrils that combine and challenge reality with sci-fi in each piece.”
Sara Catapano: Malefic Fruit runs July 8-30, with an opening reception 5-8 p.m. Friday, July 8. Gallery hours are noon-5pm Monday-Friday and noon-3 p.m. Saturday.
