Reception: Willem Volkersz and Maggie Hiltner

Oct 8

Red Lodge artist Hiltner, who is artist-in-residence in the Visible Vault, incorporates embroidery she finds at antique shops in seemingly idealized landscapes, on display through Nov. 8 in “Vantage Point: An Episodic Tale.” Bozeman artist Volkersz initiates the new Montana Masters series with “Persistent Memories: Sculptural Works,” on display through Jan. 3. “The Botanical Series,” which closes Oct. 18, features photographs by Gerald Lang and Jennifer Anne Tucker that illustrate the crossover of art and science in images of surprising clarity and beauty. Through Dec. 3, “Modern Masters” features paintings by Aristide Maillol, Paul Signac and Claude Monet. “Boundless Visions: Selections from the Permanent Collection” is ongoing. Educational offerings include a Paint ’n Sip with Carol Spielman and Carol Welch, 7 p.m. Oct. 15 or 16 ($45-$50 per evening); and instruction in creating clay house numbers or decorative tiles, 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Oct. 24 and 31 ($45-$50). The museum also hosts an afternoon tea and sale of Marie Halone’s catering linens, 1-2:30 p.m. Oct. 11.
