LT Pick

The 12th Red Ants Pants Music Festival starts downtown with a free street dance at 8 p.m. Thursday, featuring Kenan Flannery and Denim & Dust, and runs through Sunday with live music on two stages at the festival grounds, located on a local ranch.
This year’s Main Stage performers include Tanya Tucker, The Wood Brothers, Larkin Poe, Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives, The War and Treaty, Ned Ledoux, American Aquarium, Stephanie Quayle, Tami Neilson, Madeline Edwards, Arlo McKinley, Kaitlin Butts, The Eagle Rock Gospel Singers, Logan Ledger, Goodnight Moonshine and Dusty the Kid & the Recession Special.
The festival is designed to bring people together and support the Red Ants Pants Foundation, which is dedicated to women’s leadership, working family farms and ranches, and rural communities. Founded and produced by Red Ants Pants owner Sarah Calhoun, it remains a homegrown celebration, run by a dedicated crew and 250 festival volunteers.
Offerings also include agriculture and work skill demonstrations, the annual Beard and Moustache and cross-cut sawing competitions, plus local food, beer, wine, art and crafts.
Camping is available to festival ticket-holders on site for $35 per person.
