"Coping With the Landscape," featuring photographs by Ryan Parker, continues in
the Bair Gallery through Nov. 3. This series explores a single locality within the Montana landscape filled with incorporated townships, superfund sites, distribution centers, and extraction zones.
Also on display:
"Montana Fiber Traditions," organized by the Helena Spinners and Weavers Guild,
is on view in the Sherman Gallery Oct. 4-Nov. 8. This exhibit will feature fiber artists working live at various times throughout the show.
"Picturing Paradise: Cuadros from the Peruvian Women of the Pamplona Alta as Visions of Hope" continues in the Millikan, Nicholson and Held Galleries through Nov. 20. The traveling exhibition features embroidered and appliquéd fabric pictures called cuadros, created by the women of two art cooperatives located in Pamplona Alta, a shantytown situated on the outskirts of Lima, Peru. The exhibition focuses on the women as artists and the way their art reflects creativity, resilience, and hope despite the harsh conditions of their lives.
