Annual event honors the Lewis and Clark expedition’s trip through the Bitterroot. This year organizers are unveiling the Descent Trail kiosks in Darby. Speakers from different agencies responsible for the kiosks will be on hand, including Travelers Rest director, Darby NF Trails Ranger, retired Darby District Ranger, and representatives from the National Smoke Jumpers Association. Local authors Bruce Mihelish (Farewell to the Salish) and Ted Hall (Meeting the Salish) will also share their books.
The Darby town endowment fund has awarded a $750 grant for a wall mural in the park. BHCG needs to raise a matching $750. For sale will be t-shirts, bracelets, key chains and out-of-print book My Bitterroot, by Henry Grant.
The Bitterroot Rodders car club will be there with vintage autos.
