Featured artists at the Killdeer Artisands Guild’s spring exhibit are Kathee Dunham, Claire Emery, and Jenah Mead.
Dunham takes center stage with her installation of bird nests a tribute to the genius of birds as architects and artists titled “Winged Makers.”
Emery is an artist, naturalist and illustrator whose career began in nature field journaling and illustration, evolving into book illustrations, and for 12 years years, translating her sketches into woodcut prints. She’ll also offer a two-hour class May 11 for those interested in learning about how to sketch birds.
Mead combines the study of nature and art to create detailed graphite illustrations of local flora and fauna. Her drawings embody her experiences observing and connecting with the natural world.
Three new members show work as well: Juanita Thames (pastels), Doug Ersson-Hammerberg, photography, and Joel Carlson, sketches. The exhibit is on display through mid June.
