No mere retro-soul band, St. Paul and The Broken Bones opened for The Rolling Stones headlined two nights at the Ryman Auditorium and appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman, Austin City Limits and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. This Alabama band’s fearless showmanship and thoughtful lyrics are backed by some of the best young instrumentalists in the South.
St. Paul & The Broken Bones are one of a handful of bands to play the Top Hat, Wilma and now KettleHouse Amphitheater, graduating from one venue to the next and this show should prove to be a fitting celebration. Part of the band also has special roots in Montana, as their bassist, Jesse Phillips, is originally from Eureka.
The Dip, an electrifying seven-piece ensemble that melds vintage rhythm and blues with classic pop storytelling, opens the show.
