The Addams Family

Oct 21 - Oct 30

LT Pick

A comic strip by Charles Addams in the late 1930’s about a quirky family with ghoulish humor took on a life of its own in a 1960’s TV series and eventually to the Broadway stage as a musical comedy which received numerous Tony nominations and other accolades. Gomez and Morticia Addams’ family is the spookiest, kookiest family on the block. Uncle Fester is in love...with the moon. Daughter Wednesday literally tortures her brother Pugsley. When Wednesday falls in love with a bright and pleasant boy from a bright and pleasant family, she invites them to dinner to meet her most... unusual family, prompting Pugsley to plot his revenge. The plan goes awry, nearly tearing the two families apart (figuratively). The result is utter chaos and confusion during a thunderstorm, when hidden family secrets come to light---in the darkness (literally). Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice’s book, and Andrew Lippa’s lively musical score ultimately help bring everything back to normal.......whatever that is!
