The Montana Premiere Project is presented by Anaconda Ensemble Theatre and Montana Playwrights Network. Featured plays are: “Landering Truth” (Robert Holter of Helena) takes place in the medium small conservative town of Scheahhana. The theater teacher, a young professional named Landry, has been called in by the superintendent Mr. Lorditall, to “give account” for allegedly swearing at a rehearsal. The Principal /Superintendent /Head football coach has called witnesses - the students who heard it all. He has one goal in mind; to close the theater department to give the athletic department more of everything. “Wife” (Shaun Gant of Missoula), a wedding comedy about the triumph of love over experience, invites us all to dance and fall in love again. The wedding couple is tying the knot for the fourth time, determined that this time it will work. Told through the words of women of renown, “That’s What She Said” (Cynthia Webb of Helena) is a one act play that moves female discourse from a double entendre joke to multi-generational discussion on what it means to be female in America when much of the country wants her to sit down and shush.
