The Tinderbox, filmed on location in Butte, is a feature-length romantic comedy motion picture based on the fairy tale of the same name by Hans Christian Andersen. A troubled soldier returns home to Butte and finds an old tinder box that can bring him anything he desires, including heaps of gold, and a beautiful young lady kept captive in a tower by her paranoid father. The film is directed by David L. Butler, cinematographer on Apocalypse Now, The Black Stallion, The Blues Brothers and more, and Emmy-nominated comedy writer, Elizabeth Cox. The cast of talented actors includes Mike Nance, Mike Verdon, and Brin Merkley. Rating: PG-13.
