NOVA Center for the Performing Arts opens 2021 with The Vote, a story recalling the “first lady of Congress,” Montana’s own Jeannette Rankin. The play, written and directed by DeLaney Hardy Ray from Billings, may be viewed virtually, and a small number of in-person tickets will be sold.
The play presents Ms. Rankin’s (Brenna Brockel) first days in office as Montana’s congresswoman. A fiery and independent woman filled with integrity, she was willing to stand up and fight for issues that did not please everyone.
