Understory/Overstory is the artist’s second iteration of this large-scale installation. It consists of found and altered trees and black ceramic birds that alight in branches and rise in a murmuration on the gallery walls. The title refers to the ecological relationship between upper and lower forest vegetation that expresses the diversity, composition, and structure of the ecosystem.
The exhibit is on display July 5-Dec. 29 with a reception 5-8 p.m. July 26.
