Seeley Lake celebrates all that winter offers over three weekends, Jan. 17-Feb. 1, with the Wild West Winterfest. Weekend 1: Fun kicks off with the Driftriders’ Snow Ball, 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, in the Community Hall; and a 7 p.m. reading by Malcolm Brooks from his new book, Painted Horses, at Grizzly Claw Trading Company. The Driftriders’ snowmobile poker run takes to the woods and backcountry trails at 9 a.m. Sunday. Weekend 2: The torch-lit Wild West Winterfest parade treks through town at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23; afterward, Christmas trees fuel a giant bonfire at the Filling Station.
The Seeley Lake Challenge Biathlon sets off from the Nordic Ski Trails at 10 a.m. Saturday, with Nordic skiers taking aim at targets along the trail. The Wild West Winterfest Vaudeville Dinner Show and Silent Auction begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Community Hall.
Tom Catmull’s Radio Static takes the stage at 3 p.m. Sunday at the high school; and winning entries in the snow-sculpture contest are judged at 2 p.m. Monday.
Weekend 3: The final weekend, Jan. 31-Feb. 1, brings the OSCR Cross Country Ski Race at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Seeley Creek Trails, and the Lion’s Club skate party from 1-3 p.m. Sunday.
