Headliner Elayne Boosler’s fashion philosophy: “If you’re not covered in dog hair, your life is empty.” Best known for her feisty humor and her love of baseball and animals, she has appeared on seemingly every talk show ever on TV, has written and starred in five Showtime comedy specials, written and directed two movies for Cinemax, performed for the Queen of England, moderated the Democratic presidential candidates debate on C-Span, and in 2001 founded an all-species animal rescue and advocacy non-profit organization, Tails of Joy.

Taylor Tomlinson started doing stand-up comedy at just 16 when she realized that her quiet, sarcastic asides were not adequately appreciated by her peers. Her self-deprecating charm and conversational wit have made her a favorite at comedy clubs and placed her in the Top Ten on this season of NBC’s Last Comic Standing.

The What Women Want Fun Run begins at 9 a.m. Saturday at West Bank Park; the race forms a 3.5-mile loop along the River’s Edge Trail along a mostly flat course with slight hills near the bridges and the dog park. Runners and walkers are welcome; please no dogs, bicycles, skates or skateboards. The run costs $25-$30 and proceeds support Women Against Breast Cancer; register online at whatwomenwantfunrun.com.
