Moss Mansion celebrates Christmas Around the World

Lift your holiday spirits with tours, a Not-So-Silent Night, and New Year's Eve Gala

The Moss Mansion in Billings positively glows at Christmastime. Local organizations and businesses decorate over 15 full-sized lit trees on a theme – Christmas Around the World this year – and the guests pour in to soak up the sights and sounds of the holidays.

Tours include stories about Christmases past, and guests vote on their favorite trees, with winners earning a small cash prize for charity. Tours are available noon-3 p.m. daily, with guided tours at 1 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays (no tours Mondays) through Jan. 5; self-guided evening tours are on tap Dec. 11, 18 and 27, when the mansion is open noon-8 p.m.

What better way to get in the holiday spirit than with Christmas Spirits Around the World? Drink delicious beverages at five tasting stations, and discover Christmas traditions from around the globe during this family-friendly evening. Doors open at 6 p.m. with tours beginning every 20 minutes starting at 6:20 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 and 21. Tickets are $35 per person, all ages.

’Tis the month of Christmas and all through the Moss, the creatures are stirring Dec 15 for a Not-So-Silent Night. Santa and Mrs. Claus welcome kiddos (in pajamas if they want) for hands-on crafts and story time with Mrs. Claus. Youngsters visiting with the Jolly Gent (bring cameras to capture that special moment) and explore the mansion’s Christmas Around the World-themed trees, searching for those two mischievous Elves on a Shelf.

Sessions begin at 3:30 p.m. and cost $25 per child ages 2 and up; accompanying adults are free. Milk and cookies included!

Finally, say so long to 2019 and welcome a new decade with the mansion’s New Year’s Eve Gala. Bring in the 20s at this ritzy, dress-up affair, which begins at 8 p.m. and features live music, light hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, and complimentary champagne at midnight. Reservations are $50 per person, non-refundable but transferable; black tie is optional.
