Featuring iconic tunes from James Brown, Aretha Franklin, The Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin and more, this unforgettable rock-n-roll rendition showcases an energetic and inspiring fusion of dancers and dance styles as they lead the audience on a thrilling journey through the decades. The explosive production artistically blends community dancers with professional visiting guest artists in creative partnerships and energetic collaborations, seamlessly weaving people of all ages and abilities, and a roaring Harley Davidson, into the heart of the choreography.

Nutcracker on the Rocks originated in Albuquerque, NM, and was performed there for 20 years.  Helena now holds the prestigious honor of being the only location where this innovative production is staged.

The 2023 cast includes over 60 local dancers, ages 7 to adult, performing alongside professional visiting artists from across the country. Local leads include BJ Bluestone as Madam Drosselmeier and Laura Brown as Marie. Visiting artists are Sarah Dassinger of Great Falls and NYC-based Luciano Castaldo.
