Mission Valley Live opens its 2025-26 season with an unforgettable evening of music as jazz guitarist and vocalist Christine Tassan et les Imposteures take the stage at the Polson High School Auditorium on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m.
A dynamic performer known for her dazzling guitar work and warm, playful stage presence, Tassan has built a reputation as one of Canada’s leading voices in gypsy jazz. With roots in the music of Django Reinhardt and the Hot Club of France, she blends virtuosic swing with a modern sensibility, weaving in elements of folk, Latin, and original compositions.
One of the rare jazz and Gypsy jazz women guitarists, Christine is known for the versatility of her sound. Her unique musicianship touch ranges from swing to Argentine tango, and even French song. Having appeared as a signer, songwriter, author, and producer, she takes part in numerous music projects both as a lead performer and an accompanist.
Born in France and now based in Montreal, Tassan has performed at prestigious jazz festivals around the world and recorded numerous acclaimed albums. She is equally admired for her vocals, which carry both charm and depth, moving effortlessly from soaring ballads to toe-tapping swing numbers.
