Cinematic Legends
Movie music takes center stage on Valentine’s weekend as the Bozeman Symphony invites audiences on an epic journey through cinematic history with Cinematic Legends: The Music of Hans Zimmer & Ennio Morricone. Performances run February 13–15 and promise an unforgettable celebration of two composers whose scores have defined generations of film lovers.

This powerful concert features music from some of the most iconic films of all time, including The Lion King, Inception, The Dark Knight Suite, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, and The Thing. Performed by a full symphony orchestra and choir, the program brings the emotional depth, drama, and grandeur of the silver screen to life in the concert hall.
Hans Zimmer, one of today’s most influential film composers, is known for redefining the sound of modern cinema. Over a career spanning more than 40 years, the German-born composer has crafted bold, innovative scores that blend orchestral power with contemporary textures. His work has earned multiple Academy Awards, Golden Globes, and Grammy Awards, and his music remains instantly recognizable to audiences worldwide.
Equally legendary is Ennio Morricone, whose extraordinary career spanned more than six decades. The acclaimed Italian composer wrote music for over 500 films and television productions, leaving behind a catalog of haunting, lyrical, and emotionally rich scores. Morricone received an Academy Award for Lifetime Achievement and later won a competitive Oscar for his score to Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight.
“Hans Zimmer and Ennio Morricone have created timeless melodies and film scores that are beloved across generations,” said Music Director Norman Huynh. “Hearing this music performed live by a full symphony orchestra—from The Lion King to Cinema Paradiso and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly—will be a truly thrilling experience.”
Performances take place Friday, February 13, at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, February 14, at 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, February 15, at 2:30 p.m. at the historic Willson Auditorium, 404 W. Main St., in downtown Bozeman. Ticket prices start at $30. Don’t miss this fantastic concert to warm up your midwinter.
