Each musician brings international experience and exceptional artistry. Together, they create a balanced and engaging performance that connects deeply with audiences. Winners of the Beverly Hills National Auditions, two South Arts Jazz Road Tour Grants and a South Arts Jazz Road Creative Residency Grant, Quarteto’s master musicians create emotionally-charged soundscapes with instruments and sensibilities that represent very different world cultures. Their unique instrumentation – soprano saxophone/alto flute, cello, guitar and hand percussion richly colors their wide-ranging repertoire.

Audiences will hear music that flows smoothly from energetic rhythms to peaceful, emotional melodies. The program includes beautiful arrangements such as Heitor Villa-Lobos’ “Bachianas Brasileiras,” along with original compositions inspired by global musical traditions.

Quarteto Nuevo effectively melds the music of ancient worlds and faraway places with a contemporary groove that enchants audiences of all ages.

Tickets are affordable and family-friendly, available at the door. Adults pay just $15, while ages 13–18 attend free. Children 12 and under are free with a ticketed adult. Season tickets are also accepted. Mission Valley Live is dedicated to bringing high-quality performances to the community, and this event reflects that mission.
