Montana Ballet Company (MBC) announces the Bozeman premiere of Cinderella on Saturday, Feb. 24 and Sunday, Feb. 25 at the Willson Auditorium in Bozeman.
“Cinderella is one of my all-time favorite ballets,” says Elizabeth DeFanti, MBC’s Artistic Director. “The Prokofiev score is exquisite, inspiring exceptional dancing and a magical production from start to finish. I was so fortunate to dance the title role during my career and am so delighted to share this beautiful work with our MBC dancers and our community.”
Montana Ballet Company, known for its annual Nutcracker, enjoyed great success with its production of full length “Snow White,” last February. The company is geared up to produce another full-length classic that will appeal to audiences of all ages.
The timeless story of Cinderella promises to enchant the entire family, with comical stepsisters, a magical fairy Godmother, the opulent grand ball, and a true love story.
MBC’s production features handcrafted costumes, sets and lighting, plus theatrical elements. Another highlight is live music, with MBC’s music director Stefan Stern leading an orchestra of local musicians who will play Prokofiev’ s magnificent score.
This production is underwritten by: Tim and Mary Barnard, the Gilhousen Family Foundation, the Montana Arts Council’s Public Value Partnership, and the Steinmuller Family Charitable Fund.
Tickets are $15-$55 ($2 more at the door). Call 406-582-8702 or order online.
