Owenhouse Bicycling Co. is proud to announce that the Mystic Mountain Bike Race is back for a second year and will be hosting the event on July 18 outside of Bozeman. The Mystic Race offers mountain bikers an opportunity to test themselves on some of the most challenging connector trails in the Gallatin National Forest. The race features 6000 feet of gut busting climbs and world-class descents amid remote Montana scenery.
“We are once again very excited about the event and the course,” said co-director Steve Lowry. “After years of exploring these incredible trails, we are happy to be hosting an event that showcases some of the best riding in our area.” Building off of the success of last year’s inaugural event, the Mystic MTB Race plans to expand the field of riders but will still limit the number of available slots to 100.
Interested riders can register for the race online at mysticrace.com until July 16 and in person July 17 at Owenhouse Bicycling Co. Early registration is recommended. Participation in the ride will cost $40-60 depending on registration date. The race starts at 7 a.m. on July 18 at Bear Canyon Trailhead. Each rider is required to be self-contained with enough water and food to complete the race. Race details, a course map, and rules can be found at the website.
