Artist Workshop: The Artist's Book in Creative Practice

Artist Jessica Hays will lead participants through a talk/workshop centered around the Artist’s Book in Creative Practice. This talk and workshop combo covers the importance of the bookmaking process, followed by a short workshop in bookbinding. Participants will finish with one soft cover book that they stitched themselves.
Artist books play an important role in Hays’s own practice for realizing long-term bodies of work while also serving as artistic pieces in their own right. Hays will illuminate the process of conceptualizing a book with several examples.
