During this workshop, visiting Buddhist teacher and addiction recovery specialist Dave Smith will discuss how mindfulness practices can be constructively integrated with emotional intelligence.
Participants will learn to understand how emotions work, and how they can work for and not against us; to recognize and work with emotional triggers; to deepen awareness and stabilize attention; to develop compassion for the self and others; and to cultivate genuine happiness and mental balance.
Smith is an internationally recognized Buddhist meditation teacher, addiction treatment specialist, and published author. His background is rooted in the Insight Meditation tradition. He has extensive experience bringing meditative interventions into jails, prisons, youth detention centers and addiction treatment facilities.
