Encaustic Workshop

May 18 - May 19

This is a unique creative experience for adults. Each participant will complete two encaustic pieces on birch panels. All materials will be provided. During the class, teacher Kris Larson will discuss the many options for getting started with encaustics and the very important best practices. Participants will learn how to prepare birch panels for painting, fuse layers, inlay other materials, carve the wax and use pigment sticks. All levels of encaustic learners are welcome.
Some other things to note: Please bring lunch. Lemon water and tea will be available. To take notes, bring a notebook or journal. This process can be messy so participants should bring an apron or wear clothes they don't mind 'getting messy!'
