Join Free the Seeds in person and virtually March 6 8 for the sixth annual fair. This is a FREE community-powered event that promotes real seeds, real food, and real skills. The event includes a drive-by heirloom seed giveaway plus five free virtual, interactive workshops and two Happy Hour Community Conversations held via Zoom.
Saturday, March 6: from 9 a.m.-noon, pick up free heirloom seed bundles at Flathead Valley Community College in Kalispell and ImagineIF Library in Columbia Falls; look for Free the Seeds signs.
Zoom workshops include: Growing Your Own Herb Garden Designs and What to Grow Out Your Back Door from 2-3:30 p.m.; Small-Space Gardening, 4-5:30 p.m.; and Happy Hour Community Conversation: Community Seed Saving The Key to Local Food Security, 6 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, March 7: Zoom workshops tackle
Building Healthy Soil, 1 2:30 p.m.; Attracting Beneficial Insects and Pest Control, 3 4:30 p.m.; and Happy Hour Community Conversation: Can We Create Edible Neighborhoods? from 5 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 8: Free the Seeds concludes with a Zoom workshop from
6 7:30 p.m. on Fruit Tree Pruning and Orchard Tending.
