This class is intended to give students the skills to successfully plan and build bigger, both for the purpose of creating figurative sculpture or larger pottery forms. Students will learn planning techniques such as moquette making, and will be guided through the process of taking an idea from a small practice to a full scale finished piece using hollow building techniques. The intent of this class is to branch out into the 10-20" scale realm in length, width, and height. An attainable leap in craftsmanship to help participants build up their skills in ceramics!
This class welcomes continuing students who are ready to try something new and different, but will also be accessible for beginners who wish to use handbuilding as a point of entry into the vast world of ceramics.
Requirements: A positive attitude and desire to try and learn.
Included in class fee: First bag of clay, all firing fees for work created in all classes are included in the class fee (size limit- items must not measure more than 20” in any direction), access to work in studio outside of class meeting time.
