IndepenDANCE 2024 Auditions

Whether a beginner or a pro, everyone is welcome. The goal during auditions is to match up choreographers and dancers. IndepenDANCE choreographers offer a range of dance styles and skill levels. The hope is to place everyone who wants to participate.
What to bring: happy self and open mind,wear comfortable clothes to move in, water to stay hydrated.
What to expect: A great opportunity to learn more about how IndepenDANCE works, meet the choreographers and other dancers, and try several different dance styles, each participant will wear a number and have their photo taken, participants will be divided into groups based on the number of registrants; these smaller groups will perform short choreographies learned at the auditions one at a time. Participants will be filmed for the choreographers who can’t attend auditions.
After Auditions: choreographers review Registration Forms and videos and invite dancers to join a piece. The invitation includes rehearsal times and costs so dancers can make informed decisions about which pieces they can commit to join. Dancers then accept or decline the invitations they receive. Rehearsals typically start in June.
