Makoshika Summer Youth Program: Map It

Kids ages 7-13 can enjoy a morning of learning about nature, as Makoshika staff present Map It”. As the digital age takes over, more and more skills are becoming obsolete.
However, being able to read and draw a map is very important skill to have. Understanding and reading a map
can be crucial in emergency situations. It also helps students with spatial reasoning skills and helps them make sense of, and relate, to the world around them. In this program students will learn about the characteristics that make up maps as well as to read and make one of their own.
