Montana Historical Society Hosts 50th Annual Conference

Sep 28 - Sep 30

With this year’s “Building on the Past” theme, The Montana Historical Society will continue to bridge the past, present, and future through lectures, panel and roundtable discussions, tours, and workshops on a wide array of fascinating topics.
Friday night's keynote speaker is Pulitzer-Prize-winning historian Elizabeth Fenn, who will discuss Indigenous warfare, hunting techniques, environmental conditions, horse-borne interactions, and Plains power dynamics through the story of a one-month period of Sacagawea’s life. She will be joined by retired MTHS curator Kirby Lambert, MSU Billings professor of history, Emily Arendt and professor Mark Johnson.
