Ready to bring your comedy ideas to life? Join this intensive, hands-on sketchwriting course inspired by the iconic Saturday Night Live format. Whether a comedy fan, an aspiring writer, or just eager to try something new, this class will guide participants through the process of creating a full comedy episode from scratch.
Participants will write for a cast of six talented actors, using their reels to inspire characters and sketches. By the end, a cohesive, hilarious comedy episode will have taken shape. The course culminates in a classic industry table read, where the cast returns to bring the sketches to life in front of the group and a gallery of invited guests. It’s the perfect chance to see work performed, get feedback, and celebrate with fellow writers.
On the final “crunch night,” participants will come together for a celebratory dinner as they finalize sketches and get ready for the big read.
This course is led by Joe Borden, former writer and co-producer for Tosh.0, who brings years of experience and insider tips to the table. Joe will guide through brainstorming, writing, and refining sketches, helping people bring out their comedic voice.
No prior experience is necessary just bring a funny bone and get ready to laugh.
