A Magical Nutcracker-With-a-Difference You Can’t Miss This Season

Experience Yellowstone Ballet Company’s enchanting and energetic Nutcracker—world-class dancers, stunning visuals, and fun for the whole family.

On Stage

Yellowstone Ballet Company invites you to experience a Nutcracker unlike any other. Audiences call it “different, in a good way,” and it delivers pure holiday magic from the first note to the final bow.

You’ll feel the excitement from the moment the young dancers step onstage. Their energy fills the theater. Professional dancers elevate every scene with powerful artistry. Aerial angels float from the rafters. Northern lights shimmer across the Land of Ice and Snow. A Christmas tree grows before your eyes. Every moment draws you deeper into the wonder.

Artistic Director Kathleen Rakela, founder of Yellowstone Ballet Company and recipient of the Montana Arts Council Fellowship in the Performing Arts, leads this magical collaboration. She brings together gifted dancers and choreographers from across Montana, including Yellowstone Ballet Academy, Billings Ballet Company, Raison d’être Dance Project, and Core Ballet Montana. Many performers return year after year, creating a rich tradition onstage.

Bozeman’s own Molly Groeschl returns as the Sugar Plum Fairy. Her résumé spans Colorado Ballet, Ballet West, Milwaukee Ballet, Tucson Ballet, and Madison Ballet. She commands the stage with grace and strength.

She performs alongside the internationally acclaimed Lucas Segovia, who appears as both the Nutcracker Prince and the Cavalier. A principal dancer with Ballet Argentina and award-winning artist, Lucas has dazzled audiences in over 400 cities worldwide. His partnership with Molly shines with chemistry built over many years of shared performances.

This year marks Yellowstone Ballet Company’s thirty fourth annual Nutcracker. Performances take place at the Willson Auditorium on Saturday, Nov. 29 and Sunday, Nov. 30 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets range from $29 to $80 and are available online or at the door. Every adult ticket includes a free child ticket. Kids can also enter the Nutcracker Costume Contest, win prizes, and take home a special gift.

Step into the magic. Make this special Nutcracker your family tradition this holiday season.
