A Big Season in an Intimate Theater
The Stillhouse Junkies concert joins an ambitious launch for The Myrna Loy’s 2026–27 season. The historic jailhouse turned arts venue plans more than 25 events over nine months. Its lineup spans Americana, jazz, classical music, bluegrass, dance and family theater.
Executive Director Benji Cosgrove calls it the venue’s heftiest season since the pandemic. Artists will travel from across the country and from Ireland, Italy and Cape Verde.
Yet the setting remains wonderfully intimate. Audiences can experience touring performers up close, with the character of the old jailhouse adding another layer to the evening. Cosgrove credits Helena’s enthusiastic crowds with making visits memorable for artists, too.
New Sound for a Fresh Season
Meanwhile, The Myrna Loy is preparing a major sound upgrade. A new system from German manufacturer D&B Audiotechnik will help launch the season, with Montana Pro Audio handling installation.
Technical Director Lenny Eckhardt says the speakers will deliver more even volume and frequency throughout the theater. As a result, listeners should enjoy a more consistent experience wherever they sit. A new sound console will also give him additional tools and effects.
That investment supports the venue’s goal of pairing exceptional artists with exceptional listening experiences. For an acoustic trio built around musical interaction, the setting promises an appealing match.
